How to make a cheap design bring money

An old friend of mine approached me with a request to develop a corporate identity for his new women's clothing brand. It had no name, no positioning, and also had a limited budget.

We first focused on defining the basic elements, such as the company name and positioning, to then build the brand image. After much discussion, we chose the name Gimle, which is inspired by Norse mythology. We decided to focus on the end consumer to create a specific positioning, addressing them as the center of everything.

I already had a clear vision for the brand, inspired by the films of director Wes Anderson and his love of symmetry. I used suitable footage as references to show how the product should be presented on marketplaces.

When developing the logo, I combined Scandinavian mythology and asymmetry, creating an unusual combination with photographs and other compositional elements.

Due to limited budget, I proposed to focus on digital media and the development of social networks. In the long run, this will attract more customers and save on development and printing costs. Considering that sales will be carried out through marketplaces, the attention of customers will be attracted not only by the packaging, but also by the presentation of the product on the marketplace card. With the remaining funds, we decided to create a simple business card website that will increase conversions and give the brand a more presentable look.

As a result of the project, my client received a high-quality design that fully fits his budget. I, in turn, gained valuable experience working within limited boundaries and with limited tools.
